The four new Volvo EC140Ds were selected following a competitive tender process but the case for Volvo was boosted by the performance of the EC140B machines purchased by John F Hunt back in 2006.
“Basically we have trust in the Volvo brand in terms of performance and reliability,” said managing director Keith Scott. “Our EC140Bs have performed well in a mixed fleet of equipment, so the reliability as well as the after sales service we enjoy from Volvo has been deciding factors in our purchasing decision.”
The new additions will be deployed in the Essex-based company's civils hire fleet and on demolition projects. The machines will also be made available for hire.
