Galliford Try and BBES deliver Warrington health centre

2 May 12 Galliford Try is building a £7m primary care health centre in Warrington town centre on the site of the demolished Victorian baths.

Galliford Try is working for Renova Developments, a public private partnership between the Fulcrum Group and the NHS, on behalf of client Warrington Primary Care Trust (PCT), the scheme forms part of the Halton & St Helens, Knowsley and Warrington LIFT Project.

Balfour Beatty Engineering Services (BBES) is providing the mechanical and electrical (M&E) package.

The new building will replace the existing Garven Place site and will accommodate two GP practices as well as dental services.

The development, set for completion in autumn 2012, is targeting a BREEAM ‘excellent’ rating. Sustainable initiatives on the building include temperature monitoring, solar hot water and rainwater harvesting.  The building will also have an intelligent lighting system that incorporates PIR presence and daylight detectors designed to reduce energy wastage.
