Galliford Try and ISG finally sign Prompt Payment Code

25 Sep 13 Two more members of the big contractors’ club have finally signed up to the Prompt Payment Code, undertaking to pay their suppliers on time and on fair terms.

It is nearly a year now since construction minister Michael Fallon directed tier one contractors to sign up to the voluntary code and embrace best practice or face being named and shamed.

As recently as July this year, 12 of the 30 members of the UK Contractors Group (UKCG) had either refused to sign or hadn’t got the memo.

During the summer months, Mace, Seddon and Midas decided it was time to sign up. This month has seen Galliford Try and ISG add their names to the list of signatories, which today runs to 210 companies form the construction sector.

UKCG itself also signed up to the code earlier this month.

The six members of UKCG that have still not signed the Prompt Payment Code are:

    Clegg

    Clugston

    D+R Scaffold Group

    Keepmoat

    Severfield-Rowen

    Shepherd Construction

The full list of signatories can be seen on the Prompt Payment Code website.
