Gandy moves from Balfour to Kier

6 Apr 16 Balfour Beatty’s London chief Paul Gandy has moved to Kier to head its southern construction operations.

Starting this week, Paul Gandy will oversee Kier’s construction business in London, southern and western England and Wales. At Kier he has a portfolio of more than 100 live sites and reports to Peter Young, Kier executive director, building UK. Mr Gandy's job title is director, building UK – south.

Mr Gandy had been managing director of Balfour Beatty’s London operations since August 2014, having previously worked for Lendlease as managing director of its England and Wales activities. Before that he held senior roles at Carillion and Multiplex. He began his career with Trollope & Colls and then Schal. He is a fellow of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Chartered Institute of Building and has an MSc in building from the University of Westminster, and an MBA from Management Centre, Buckingham.

Peter Young said: “I’m delighted to welcome Paul to Kier. His extensive industry experience will complement our existing management team and his broad understanding of the southern UK market will be invaluable as we work towards our Vision 2020.”

Paul Gandy said: “This is an exciting time for me to be joining Kier. Vision 2020 is an ambitious target and I’m eager to contribute to this and continue to grow Kier’s existing presence across the south of the country.”
