The new King’s Leadership Academy is going up on former playing fields in Woolston, ready for a phased transition from old building to new during the summer term 2015.
The new secondary and sixth form academy building is designed by Manchester-based Pozzoni Architects. Designed around a central atrium, it has a double height colonnade, feature entrance and multi-use sports hall and auditorium. Sustainable features include a natural ventilation system.
GB Building Solutions executive chairman Martin Smout said: "Our vast experience in the education sector means GB is best placed to develop the new King’s Leadership Academy to the highest standard possible. We will work closely with the staff, governors and students, as well as the local community, to create a facility that will truly inspire young people."
