German software firm opens London office
German structural engineering software developer Sofistik has opened its first subsidiary in the United Kingdom.
The new Sofistik UK branch is in southwest Lonodn and run by sales engineer Guido Altersberger.
Sofistik has been active in the UK since 1996, working with several international construction firms. The company now expects to get closer to its UK customers and be better placed to offer technical support. The rise of building information modelling is also bringing business opportunities, the company said.
“With our new UK subsidiary, we’re looking to continue to exploit the potential of our digital planning and building information modelling or BIM software in what is one of the key markets for these new technologies,” said Frank Deinzer, head of sales at Sofistik AG.
