“This is very welcome news for the airport and our passengers,” said the airport. “The city’s Metro proposals are compelling and demonstrate real ambition to deliver a much needed, sustainable transport system.”
The link would be built in phases, with the first phase connecting Paisley Gilmour Street train station and Glasgow airport, before extending further east.
Proposals for a metro to the airport have been discussed for a number of years.
