Go-ahead for Clydebank and Greenock health centres

26 Jun 15 The Scottish government has approved funding for two health centres with a combined capital cost of £38m.

Scotland’s deputy first minister John Swinney has given a green light to Clydebank Health Centre and Greenock Health & Care Centre. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde will now build the two projects in tandem.

Mr Swinney said that by combining the two projects “we estimate that we are able to save over £4m in capital and revenue costs”. This brings the bill down from £42m to £38m.

Mr Swinney announced plans in November 2014 to invest £409m in new hospitals and health centres as part of a £1bn extension to the non profit distributing (NPD) programme. The Clydebank and Greenock health centres will be funded from this.
