Called The Beacon Arts Centre, the new building will house a 500-seat main auditorium as well as a 130-seat studio theatre, three rehearsal rooms and a riverside café and bar with views over the Clyde.
The total project cost is £9.m, which is jointly funded by Greenock Arts Guild, Creative Scotland, Inverclyde Council, Riverside Inverclyde and Big Lottery Fund.
