The man, in his twenties and from Wiltshire, was working on a McAleer & Rushe hotel development scheme in the town’s West Street.
An air ambulance was dispatched to the site late yesterday (13th May) morning in response to an emergency call but the man was declared dead at the site at 12.20pm.
A spokesman McAleer & Rushe said: "We are very shocked at this tragic death. It would be inappropriate to say anything further at this stage."
