Interserve adds £37.5m facilities contract to retail portfolio

Interserve will provide a range of services including security, cleaning, customer service support and waste management at eight of Land Securities' shopping centres. The Westgate Centre in Oxford will be added to the account from 2017 when construction work there is complete.

Under the deal, 560 employees will transfer to Interserve from previous supplier OCS.

Interserve will work in cooperation with Land Securities’ mechanical & electrical contractor NG Bailey.

Interserve now sweeps, mops and manages facilities at 60 shopping centres across the UK.

Chief executive Adrian Ringrose said: “The creation of this partnership is testament to our ability to deliver a cost-effective and integrated service for the retail sector.  The customer experience is a critical part of the retail offering and we will work with Land Securities to create the best possible experience for visitors and employees at their centres.”
