The contractor will demolish the existing 1970's accommodation on the London Road site and build a new 36 unit housing development, featuring both terraced properties and flats. Six two-storey blocks will be constructed on the tightly constrained site and all the homes will achieve a Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4 performance rating. Designed to blend in with the surrounding built environment, the traditionally constructed properties will feature brick façades and pitched tiled roofs incorporating photo voltaic cells to generate electricity.
The project is scheduled for completion in spring 2012.
