Jacobs to examine safety of Irish road schemes

13 Aug 13 Jacobs has won a contract with the National Roads Authority (NRA) to conduct health and safety site inspections on Ireland’s road network.

It will also provide corporate support for occupational health and safety initiatives within the NRA.

The award follows a previous commission through which Jacobs developed an inspection system for the NRA.

Under the terms of the contract, Jacobs is inspecting project sites throughout the national roads network to facilitate consistency in the implementation of health and safety systems and procedures. The work includes a special focus on temporary traffic management measures from the perspective of the road-user; and reporting and advising on findings.

Jacobs group vice president Bob Duff said: “Jacobs is delighted to support the National Roads Authority on this project, which builds on the previous health and safety program we successfully delivered. We are pleased to continue our long working relationship with the NRA in the development and maintenance of the National Road Network in Ireland."
