The project for Liverpool City Council will provide up to 400,000 sq ft of office space over three new buildings, transforming the city’s business district.

The city council also wants Kier to explore ways to work with the new owner of an adjoining seven-acre car park to redevelop the city centre site for a mixed-use scheme including a hotel, a new car park, leisure uses and up to 2,000 new homes.

The two phases together, if they go ahead, would be worth an estimated £200m.

It is anticipated that a planning application will be submitted later in the year for the first phase at Pall Mall Exchange.
