The other members of the alliance team for the Roe 8 project are Georgiou Group, WA Limestone, GHD, Aecom and BG&E.

The work includes a freeway to freeway interchange, five interchanges/flyovers and a bridge over the Beeliar Wetlands.

“Australia’s ongoing investment in transport and other economic infrastructure continues to provide opportunities for the Cimic Group and Leighton Contractors,” said Marcelino Fernández Verdes executive chairman and CEO of Leighton’s parent company Cimic.

Leighton Contractors managing director Román Garrido added: “Our experienced Roe 8 team integrates road, bridge, environmental and community engagement specialists who have successfully delivered other major road infrastructure projects around Perth.”

The Roe Highway Extension (Roe 8) project is designed to transform the road network in Perth's southern suburbs.  It will provide a link to connect inland industry areas and will also improve transport access to locations including Perth Airport, Fremantle Inner Harbour and the future Outer Harbour.

Improved road user safety is seen as a key project benefit.  Roe 8 will redirect heavy vehicle traffic from suburban roads including Leach Highway.

Construction is scheduled to begin in the middle of next year and be completed by 2019.
