Lend Lease offers Wrexham jail break

10 Jul 14 Lend Lease is looking for suppliers and subcontractors to join its team on construction of the £151m Wrexham super prison

Construction companies are being invited to meet procurement directors from Lend Lease to learn what opportunities are available on the 66-acre development and how to compete for them. Work available for contractors includes excavation, foundations, metalwork, roofing, and internal works.

This free event hosted by Constructionline, the government-owned database of contractors, is being held in Wrexham on Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th July. Lend Lease is particularly interested in meeting representatives from SMEs based across North Wales.

Constructionline business development manager Dilara Rogers said: “Main contractors are often keen to engage SME businesses in the communities where they’re overseeing projects, but can find it difficult to get access to this group, and vice versa. These events offer valuable introductions between both parties, helping organisations source quality suppliers and enabling contractors to meet procurement directors to learn about winning work in their area.”

Lend Lease procurement manager Teresa Sykes said: “The new prison for North Wales in Wrexham is set to be a major development that will create long-term work opportunities for local suppliers. Hosting these events will open up access to a variety of quality construction professionals in the region and allow them to find out about our procurement processes for the project.”

The events are free but registration is advised. For more information or to register interest, go to www.constructionline.co.uk/events
