Lend Lease seeks support for Elephant & Castle

9 Oct 13 Main contractor Lend Lease is opening up the opportunity to work on its £1.5bn Elephant & Castle regeneration scheme to trade contractors in the local area.

Construction firms from the London Borough of Southwark are being offered the chance to win work on the huge project at a supplier engagement day on 17 October 2013, 9am to 1pm. The free event is being held at the Imperial War Museum,  and run by Constructionline, the government-owned database of contractors. It will allow Southwark contractors, suppliers and tradespeople to find out about job opportunities with Lend Lease.

Over the next 15 years, Lend Lease will be developing close to 3,000 new homes at Elephant & Castle, as well as shops, restaurants, parks and community spaces.

Lend Lease head of procurement for development Nigel McKay said: “The scheme is one of the largest remaining regenerations in Zone 1. We’re keen to work with local contractors, giving them the opportunity to secure work right on their doorstep and be a part of what is set to be a prolific transformation.”

Contractors and suppliers can register for the event at www.constructionline.co.uk/events
