Lovell cleared for £40m Cockermouth development

The 217-home development was unanimously approved by Allerdale Council’s development panel.

The scheme will be made up of two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom houses, with a mix of tenure types. The development, called The Laureates, is designed by Ainsley Gommon Architects.

Lovell expects to start work imminently on the four-year construction programme.

Regional director Nigel Yates says: “The scheme has been carefully planned to ensure it is an extension of the existing community while also providing local people with the opportunity to buy a newly built home in the town.”
