The single storey residential accommodation will have 12 bedrooms and associated staffing areas,to ensure pupils enjoy the best facilities. This phased contract also comprises refurbishment of an existing accommodation building which will be used as a training facility, the relocation of a local garden centre and allotments, and highway infrastructure work.
The building will have a high environmental specification, making use of solar panels and rainwater harvesting. An existing pond will be re-located to a new position with flora and fauna transplanted to the new location. Trees and hedges will be protected throughout the project. A number of bird and barn owl boxes will be provided to ensure the existing wildlife remains undisturbed.
Work has just started on site and will complete in November 2011.
