Mansell wins £24 million contract to build major landmark in Dundee

15 Dec 10 Mansell has won a £24 million contract to build a leisure pool and multi-storey car park in Dundee City Centre for Dundee City Council.

Both buildings will be built using a steel frame and will include the provision of associated and ancillary services including roads, fences and landscaping.

This project is an important milestone in the city’s waterfront master plan which will see the redevelopment of a number of landmarks at prominent locations across the city. The new leisure facility will replace the existing Olympia Leisure Centre.

As part of the contract Mansell will support pre-employment workshops for local people facing complex barriers to work, provide taster sessions and health and safety workshops for schools and colleges and donate fundraising efforts to local organisations throughout construction.

Work is due to start on site in January next year and complete in September 2012.

Mansell has completed several projects for Dundee City Council over the last sixteen years
