The development will include 52 apartments built to McCarthy & Stone’s Retirement Living Plus specification – a form of extra care housing – and 40 to its regular Retirement Living specification, for the more active older homeowner.
Planning permission for the development on a brownfield site close to the town centre was granted earlier this year. First residents are expected to be able to move in before the end of 2020.
