McConnell Dowell wins Indonesian marine scheme

McConnell Dowell has won a contract to expand the BP LNG Tangguh development in Indonesia.

The contract, which was awarded by PT Saipem Indonesia (PTSI), is set to begin immediately with completion expected in early 2019.

The scope of work includes jetty construction, a 60m quay wall, the installation of sheet piles, tie-rods and waling beams and a floating pontoon with gangway and catwalks. Among the other aspects of the project are the design, supply, installation, construction, testing and commissioning of abutment and shoreline rock protection and 1,000m of access trestle built using a cantilever traveler system.

"This development will capitalise on our extensive working relationship with Indonesia, which spans more than 40 years,” said Murray Dundas, managing director - South East Asia.

CEO Scott Cummins added: “We’re looking forward to starting this project, which will supports our regional business and further strengthen our relationship with PT Saipem.”
