Morgan Sindall to build £12m waste depot

12 Jan 22 Morgan Sindall Construction has been appointed main contractor for a £12m project to build a new waste services depot for Birmingham City Council.

Morgan Sindall will build the waste depot at the former Atlas Works site in Tyseley, Birmingham.

Building services consultant Acivico has been appointed to handle project management on behalf of the council and design services to RIBA Stage 3.

Morgan Sindall Construction, appointed through the Constructing West Midlands framework, will provide design work from RIBA Stage 4 and all construction works including the creation of new offices, ablution blocks, garages and workshops.

The new depot will enable the Council to relocate waste services currently delivered from its Montague Street and Redfern Road depots to one new purpose built 'super' facility.  Repairs, maintenance and MoT servicing on the council's fleet of vehicles will be undertaken on site as well as MoTs on vehicles owned by the public.
