Morgan Sindall wins 15-year Basildon maintenance deal

29 Apr 16 Morgan Sindall Property Services has signed a £300m building maintenance contract with Basildon Council.

Morgan Sindall will take care of more than 10,000 council houses as well as corporate buildings over the next 15 years. The contract starts on 1st July 2016.

The contract integrates all the council’s major repair and maintenance services and is thus expected to deliver savings of as much as £2m a year to the council.

Under the contract, Morgan Sindall will also offer tenants help with their DIY for what is described as “a small fee”.

Basildon Council chief executive Bala Mahendran, said: “This great partnership with Morgan Sindall highlights our commitment to our residents and allows us to provide a more efficient and streamlined maintenance service.

“We’re pleased that this new contract will provide better servicing and renewals works for tenants across the borough. In addition, the introduction of new services means that people will have a better choice and improved access to what they need to maintain their homes.”
