Peter Koning has been appointed to lead the operation. He joins from Aecom Australia, where he was director leading the rail operations, asset management and rail reform work streams. His projects have included a recent high-speed rail feasibility study and performing as shadow rail operator for Sydney’s North West Rail Link and Brisbane’s Cross River Rail project.
Network Rail Consulting managing director Nigel Ash said: “The opening of our office in Sydney is a landmark for our enterprise. Our presence will give us the opportunity to work and interact directly with our colleagues in the Australian and New Zealand rail industries. As general manager, Peter will give us leadership and guidance as we look to expand our work in this vibrant and exciting market.”
