He was previously managing director of Morgan Sindall’s London and Airports division and president of The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).

He also spent 24 years at Bovis Lend Lease, where he was a director for 10 years and headed the team that built the London 2012 Olympics’ Athletes village.

Peter Jacobs joined the board of Wilson James last year as a non-executive director.

Wilson James is currently the logistics consultant for the planning application at 22 Bishopsgate in the City of London.

Mr Jacobs said: "Logistics has always been critical to the successful delivery of complex construction projects. The increasing impact of BIM and off-site fabrication in the industry will provide an opportunity to increase productivity on site, but only if there is professional and disciplined logistical support. Wilson James is a market leader in logistics and security and I look forward to working with the team to develop innovative, safe, sustainable and efficient solutions for our clients."
