Mr Senior is regeneration managing director (Midlands and Wales) at Keepmoat.

He takes over from David Parsons of Pearce Construction (Barnstaple) Ltd.

The new chairman said: “I am delighted and proud to become national chairman of the National Federation of Builders.  It represents a golden opportunity and a huge challenge to ensure that we continue to support our members, both locally and with a national voice, as they continue to navigate their way through choppy waters.

“National success, and national economic growth, begins at home – at the local level, with local businesses playing their part in local projects.  The federation recognises that the single most important way to grow as an industry, is for our members to win work.  Winning work is the key theme of my chairmanship this year, and winning work lies at the heart of the procurement debate and the value that the small and medium sized construction business can bring to a project alongside the larger company.”
