In the Ofsted 2013 Chief Inspector’s Annual Report, the CITB is the only training provider in the construction, building and engineering sector to rank in this category.
The report by Sir Michael Wilshaw found that CITB offered ‘consistently excellent training, high quality facilities and support for employers across the country, whether the apprentices were enrolled directly with CITB or subcontractors’.
Of the 237 independent learning providers (ILPs) and community learning skills providers inspected in the same category as CITB, 101 were found to be ‘good’, 70 ‘required improvement’ and 24 were found to be ‘inadequate’.
CITB director of employer services Mike Bialyj said: “Consistently, CITB continues to outperform other training providers, both within the construction industry and outside the sector.
