Ogilvie acquires Longdin & Browning Surveys

14 Apr 14 Ogilvie Group has doubled the size of its surveying division with the acquisition of Swansea based Longdin & Browning.

Longdin & Browning will retain its name and operate alongside Ogilvie’s existing business, Loy Surveys, in a new division called Ogilvie Geomatics. 

The move is a significant expansion for Ogilvie and creates a specialist surveying business within the Group with a team of 46 staff and turnover of over £2 million. Ogilvie Group has an annual turnover of around £180 million and employs over 400 people across its various UK business operations.

Duncan Ogilvie, Chief Executive, Ogilvie Group, said: “The acquisition is part of a planned strategy for growth in our surveying business. Longdin & Browning has a well-established reputation for quality and customer service, along with a track record that stretches back almost 40 years, which mirrors Ogilvie’s own values and expertise.

Ogilvie Geomatics offers a full range of innovative topographical, Hydrographic, Engineering and Geographic survey solutions across a broad range of sectors in the UK and abroad.
