Ogilvie wins £7.5m Lothian school project

26 Jun 15 Ogilvie Construction has started work on a £7.5m project to build a new primary school in Armadale, West Lothian.

West Lothian Council contracted Ogilvie Construction the contract to deliver the new Armadale Primary School, with eight new classrooms and two general-purpose rooms as well as a gym and dining room and nursery provision for 60 pupils.

The project will also include the construction of a tarmac multi-user games area, car parking and a grass pitch.

The new building will incorporate energy saving technology such as photovoltaic panels on the roof, along with an increased insulation envelope and airtight design.

The school is expected to be completed next summer in time for the start of the 2016/17 academic year.

Ogilvie Construction managing director Donald MacDonald said: "A focus on delivering the highest standards of quality and service is at the core of our business and the new Armadale Primary School will provide first class learning environment when it opens next year."
