Manchester-based Boohoo.com uses the internet as its sales channel for brands including Boohoo, PrettyLittleThing and Nast Gal.

Construction of a second warehouse extension at the company’s Burnley site is already under way. Barnfield Construction is expected to complete its £6m contract in early 2018, adding 900,000 square feet of storage to the existing 996,000 square feet. This will provide sufficient capacity for a £1bn net sales operation.

However, such is the rate of growth of the company, with sales more than doubling to £120m for the three months March to May 2017, that it needs more warehouse space still.

Consequently, it has today announced plans to construct a new automated super-site of more than 600,000 square feet, which will provide more than £2bn of net sales capacity, in addition to the £1bn net sales being provided by the extended Burnley site.

The land acquisition of the new site, together with the construction, will cost around £150m, the company said.
