The 57,500 sq ft project is being built on disused land off Greengate in Middleton, Greater Manchester, which was formerly home to a BAE Systems manufacturing facility.

Work on the new two-storey building starts this month. It will be DPD’s fourth depot in the northwest, alongside Manchester, Liverpool and Warrington.

Jim Nicholson, CEO of Pochin’s, said: “Chancerygate share our long history of developing bespoke industrial sites to serve the UK’s logistics network. We will be working closely with the team to deliver a highly modernised facility capable of meeting the exceptional demands of today’s distribution industry.”

Consultants on the project include Ian C King Associates, Bradbook Consulting, TALA and Cudd Bentley. The project is expected to be complete by late spring in 2018.
