Recruitment barometer points upwards

11 Sep 13 There has been a threefold increase in the recruitment of senior executives in the building and construction industry this summer.

A firm of headhunters has compiled figures that show there were 67 jobs in the industry available in the industry in July and August offering a salary of more than £150,000 a year. This was up from just 23 for the same period in 2012 – an increase of 191%.

These vacancies were not advertised but were given to headhunters to fill.

The numbers were put together by InterExec, which said that recruitment of senior executives usually precedes the recruitment of more junior positions, so there is likely to be a substantial increase in broader recruitment in construction over the next six months, it said.
