Mabey Bridge announced the closed of its Chepstow-based infrastructure division in December 2014. Severfield has now recruited some of the Mabey Bridge staff and set up its own bridges team in Chepstow.

All manufacturing for the Severfield bridge team will be carried out at Severfield’s Lostock factory in Bolton (the old Watson Steel facility).

Severfield chief executive Ian Lawson: “We are delighted to recruit a large number of employees from the Mabey Bridge business. It provides us with a fantastic opportunity to enhance and expand our current bridge capabilities which is excellent news for clients.”
