Skanska set to start on Norwegian subway

13 May 13 Skanska has won a NOK357m (£40m) subway contract in Oslo, Norway.

The Skanska Norway contract with Kollektivtransportproduksjon is for the subway at Løren station. The contract is one of several involved in extending the subway. Tasks for Skanska include the construction of several sections of tunnel up to 470m long, a station hall and road alterations as well as electrical and water supply construction.

The metro network in Oslo's eastern districts is being upgraded with a new 1.6km double track-line between Sinsen and Økern, the new underground station at Loren and improvements to the subway stations at Vestliveien, Romsås and Stovner.

Work will start next month is scheduled to be completed in October 2015 for opening during 2016.
