Skanska clears planning for new City home

18 Apr 13 Skanska has secured planning permissions for its first commercial development project " a nine-storey office block in the City of London.

The striking building, designed by Ken Shuttleworth’s Make Architects, is at 11-19 Monument Street, alongside the Monument column that commemorates the Fire of London in 1666.

Skanska acquired the site in 2012, with the intention of delivering around 85,000sqft of Grade A offices and 3,000sqft of retail space over nine floors by the end of 2015. Nearly half of the office space will be occupied by Skanska UK itself.

Arup has been appointed as engineer for the project and GVA is advising on planning.
