Skanska will continue to provide a range of highways maintenance services, which includes: emergency response and winter service; surfacing and surface treatment works and patching; drainage and gully maintenance; street lighting; and footway construction and resurfacing.
Under the contract, Skanska looks after 1,700 miles of carriageway, 1,400 miles of footways and cycleways and 1,276 structures. The new contract runs from 1st July 2017 to 30th June 2027, with an option to extend it for up to a further five years.
Skanska also looks after the highways in Oxfordshire, Somerset, Devon and Hampshire.
