Skanska has signed a contract to manage the construction of a US$41m (£30.8m) medical research facility to be shared by three universities in the US state of Indiana.

The contract with Evansville HealthRealty is for a health science and research centre in downtown Evansville. The four-storey, 13,060m2 facility will house medical education programmes for Indiana University, the University of Evansville and the University of Southern Indiana. A simulation centre, dental clinic, amphitheatre, clinical research area, teaching classrooms, offices and surface parking are also included in the project.

PCI Skanska and S/L/A/M Collaborative are the lead design firms for the project.

Construction is slated for completion in February 2018.
