The contract with California Department of Transportation involves the construction of two segments of the Interstate 5 North Coast Corridor Phase 1 Project. Skanska’s share of the work is US$88m.
The North Coast Corridor is a transportation and environmental enhancement programme located in San Diego County’s northern coastal area. The project includes a variety of upgrades to the Interstate 5 highway, its bridges, adjacent railways and lagoons. The new contract specifically addresses upgrades for high-occupancy vehicles on the San Elijo highway section of Interstate 5 and the rail crossing at the San Elijo Lagoon.
