The Baby Giraffa is a hydraulic self-propelled crawler drilling unit for rock anchoring and soil reinforcement. It weighs 13 tonnes and is powered by a 140hp engine.
Skelair will offer it for hire as well as for its own contract drilling division.
Skelair sales director Chris Neighbour said: “With the civil engineering and construction industry continuing to pick up pace, it's really important that we are equipped to respond with the right machines at the right time. As one of only two of these machines in the UK, we anticipate high demand for its use - particularly where access and manoeuvre of a rig is limited and there are weight restrictions."
