It will be installing new granite flooring throughout the precinct as well as replacing the fascias and panelling to all shop fronts, redecorating painted areas and fitting energy-efficient LED lighting. The work is due to be finished towards the end of October 2017.

Stepnell construction director Bill Haynes said: “As a Rugby-based company, it means a great deal to our team to be working on this major project in our home town. The Clock Towers Shopping Centre has a vital role in keeping the town centre vibrant and attractive to shoppers and we’re excited to be involved in helping create its brand-new look.”

The improvements, designed by architect IDP Group, form part of a programme of work by owners CT Properties to give the centre a more modern look and make it a more attractive place to shop.

The Stepnell construction team will carry out the majority of the refurbishment programme at night-time so as to cause the least possible disruption for the public and employees, allowing shops to remain open during the day. The company will also liaise with the other contractors working on the transformation of the Centre.
