The West Port development in Dundee was given the award in recognition of its outstanding contribution to the city’s townscape. Delivered in partnership with architects, James F. Stephen, for James Keiller Estates, the development demonstrates Stewart Milne Construction’s ability to build significant city centre projects that complement their urban surroundings.
Fronting the West Marketgait and Dundee’s inner ring road, the West Port development is the third and final phase of a multi-use development in the heart of the city centre. The West Port building includes a mix of retail and leisure facilities, office accommodation and luxury serviced apartments.
Commenting on the award, Bill Imlach, managing director of Stewart Milne Construction, said:
“We are delighted to have received the commendation from Dundee Civic Trust and feel it recognises our credentials in delivering high quality city centre developments.
“We worked very closely with the architects and client to ensure the West Post development was in keeping with the style of Dundee and enhanced an already unique townscape.”
The Dundee Civic Trust Annual Awards recognise the positive contributions made to the urban environment by buildings erected in the past year.
