Strabag and Hochtief land Copenhagen metro expansion

13 Jun 14 A joint venture led by Strabag subsidiary Züblin has won the contract to build a new metro line in Copenhagen.

Züblin has a €90m (£72m) share of the €150m contract with Hochtief taking the remainder.

The contract includes about 2km of twin tunnels connecting the Cityringen circle line project with the city’s new North Harbour development area.

The contract consists of the design and construction of twin TBM tunnels and a cut and cover station at Nordhavn. Design will start immediately and the first construction works will begin late this year with the final handover to Metroselskabet in 2019.
