The contract with Turkmen State Power Corporation includes civil and installation works for the 400MW plant in Zerger in Lebap province, 600km north of the capital Ashgabat.
Sumitomo Corporation takes a role of a prime contractor with responsibility for all aspects, including procurement of the main equipment - the gas turbine and power generator - from Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems.
Construction is scheduled begin by the end of March for completion in 2018.
