Grahame Kelly, a chartered building services engineer, has joined Sweco to develop a building services team in Newcastle. He has previously worked for White Young Green, WSP and Parsons Brinckerhoff.

At Sweco he is expected to work with northwest operations director Mike McDonagh to form Sweco North.

Sweco UK director of building services Geoffrey Palmer said: “I worked with Grahame several years ago and his joining at operations director level allows us to continue our quality team growth in the north of England and help form a link between our specialist water, energy, transportation, environment and landscape teams with the buildings market. This is an exciting time for Sweco as we start to build a truly multi-disciplinary offering across the country. Grahame’s knowledge and expertise enhances our existing services, and allows us to further diversify our offering and open the door to a wider range of client projects.”

Sweco is a Swedish consulting engineer with 14,500 employees and £1.3bn annual sales. In the UK it has 800 employees, 11 regional offices and big ambitions.
