John Dodds joined the board of construction consultant Sweett in July 2014 and took over as non-executive chairman at the end of August. (See previous report here.) He now takes the role of executive chairman pending the appointment of a new chief executive officer. A search process has been initiated.
In a statement, Sweett sought to downplay Mr Webster’s sudden exit, saying merely that he had “brought forward his planned retirement date”.
Mr Dodds said: "I would like to thank Dean for his considerable contribution to Sweett Group over the last 34 years, the last nine of which as CEO. He has been instrumental in growing the business into the global operation it has become and we wish him every success for the future."
