Szerelmey, the stonework and restoration specialist, has recently been awarded an external stone cleaning and restoration contract worth £470,000 and an internal flooring and wall lining contract worth £850,000.
Externally, Szerelmey is cleaning and restoring the existing façades. New Portland stone and Metsec backing walls are being used to remodel the ground floor columns and the new extended façades up to the 9th floor.
Internally, the stone finishes will comprise Spanish Marble flooring, plus wall linings and features to 50 bathrooms, shower rooms and toilets. Italian Travertine is being used on the ground floor reception and Italian marble will be used on the penthouse fit-out.
Work is being carried out for the client, Dorchester Collection. The main contractor is Kier Wallis, Buro 4 is the project manager, and the concept architect is Thierry W. Despont, New York, while the architect is Paul Davies and Partners.
