T&T help M&S gain Indian LEED first

17 Apr 13 Turner & Townsend’s work with Marks & Spencer in India has resulted in it becoming first retail store in the country to achieve LEED platinum status.

“We’re really proud to be the first retailer in the country to be awarded the platinum rating from LEED,” said  Marks & Spencer Reliance India managing director Venu Nair.

Turner & Townsend advised on life-cycle costing, enabling M&S to take informed decisions towards reducing its operational costs while targeting LEED certification.

The store at South Extension, New Delhi, is also the first M&S store overseas to receive this highest internationally accepted benchmark for design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings.
