The Concrete Society " Launch of distance learning qualifications

25 Jun 10 The Concrete Society is pleased to announce the launch of a Level 4 Certificate of Achievement: Concrete Technology with 45 credits which starts in September 2010.

This is a distance learning programme accredited by University of Derby Corporate and delivered in one academic year.  It is an excellent way for professionals in the industry to have their knowledge and experience recognised, as well as for support personnel and managers to acquire the underpinning knowledge needed for their day to day activities.  The qualification aims to assist companies who wish to offer a dedicated academic pathway for its employees and which enables its employees to study in their own time.  The Concrete Society plans to launch Level 5 and 6 qualifications in 2011 and 2012.

The Level 4 Certificate: Concrete Technology has been produced in conjunction with the Institutes of Quarrying, Institute of Asphalt Technology and also the University of Derby Corporate.  The cost for this course is:

£1875.00 (UK students)

£2825.00 (EU students)

£3750.00 (International students)

Students can register by visiting The Concrete Society website - www. concrete.org.uk/education

Construction employs three million people – 8% of the UK workforce according to an independent report compiled for the UK Constructors Group by L.E.K. Consulting.  It is therefore essential that those working in this area are trained, educated and recognised for the skill that they have at ALL levels of the organisations.  The Level 4 Certificate: Concrete Technology is one of a series of academic qualifications produced by The Concrete Society to assist the global concrete workforce in achieving the recognition it deserves.
