Third client joins contractors’ body

29 Sep 16 Almacantar has become the third client to join the contractors’ trade association Build UK.

Admission of another client to the fold, alongside Argent and Great Portland Estates who joined earlier this month, represents a further move by Build UK to position itself as the voice of the whole construction industry.

Major industry client Almacantar has joined plc to address long standing industry issues.

Almacantar is a property investment and development company, specialising in large-scale, complex investments in Central London. Its assets include  Centre Point, Marble Arch Place, CAA House, One and Two Southbank Place, 466-490 Edgware Road and 125 Shaftesbury Avenue.

Build UK chief executive Suzannah Nichol said: “We’re delighted to welcome Almacantar to Build UK. The success of our first year was down to the commitment and willingness of our members to change their practices and I’m confident that, as more leading clients come on board, we can continue to deliver change through the supply chain.”

Almacantar project director Geoff Taylor said: “Improving quality and productivity within the construction industry can best be achieved when clients and suppliers work together, and Build UK has moved to create that forum. We look forward to working with Build UK and its members to help shape the future of the construction industry.”
